The Collaborative Mission

"To establish a countywide, collaborative approach to design, implement and maintain a holistic, wildfire resiliency strategy that builds individual, local and regional capacities to better prepare for, prevent, mitigate, respond to, and recover from potential wildfire threats for Ventura County neighborhoods and communities located in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI), now and into the future."

Goal 1: Update the Ventura County Community Wildfire Protection Plan.

Goal 2: Facilitate a holistic wildfire outreach campaign across the County of Ventura, targeting vulnerable communities through wildfire town halls.

Goal 3: Create a County-wide home hardening resiliency program.

Goal 4: Create a fine-scale hazard, risk, and vulnerability mapping and online dashboard.

Goal 5: Facilitate a wildfire vulnerability and evacuation assessment.

Goal 6: Host the first California Wildfire Summit to promote collaboration and important information sharing across the State.

The mission of the Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council is to reduce the threat of wildfire to farms, ranches, urban neighborhoods, and infrastructure, through an aggressive program of action, education and collaboration.

California Wildfire Conference

The Ventura County Wildfire Collaborative, in partnership with Coastal Quest, is proud to present the first California Wildfire Conference. This three-day exchange will bring together a diverse community of wildfire practitioners to focus on understanding, preventing, and recovering from wildfires. The conference will be held from October 24-26, 2023, in Ventura County at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
